Laura and M’Lisa turned what would have otherwise been an ordinary grocery shopping trip for this weeks retreat, into an adventure worthy of writing home about.With her “Bible” (shopping list and recipes) firmly in hand, Laura instructed and directed M’Lisa on the upcoming menu. They went over which ingredients go with what and why it’s significant to mix this with that, but only in certain quantities so on and so forth.
About the fifth store, in a frantic hunt for 20 large portobello mushrooms (no easy feat) the produce manger was more than willing to help because M’Lisa was his dream girl! Unbeknownst to M’Lisa, he batted his eyes and lingered about and was more than willing to scour the store to assist in completing her checklist…
Curious onlookers and inquisitive employees found laura and M’Lisa interesting. A cart filled with $40 worth of fungus may have had something to do with it.
After all was said and done, laura and M’lisa had a trunk with a ton of fruit, vegetables, grains and all manner of deliciousness. It was a great start to what will surely be an amazing retreat for everyone!
